One positive thought per day

I am thoroughly enjoying Donald Trump's latest book of essays on successful living - entitled "Think Like a Champion." One of the essays speaks about positive thinking. Trump refers to the theory of 'positive thinking attracting good things & success,' however, so many people simply ignore this basic fact of life. We ignore what several books & successful speakers tell us - to focus on positive thoughts in order to attract success. Now, obviously, be realistic about this. As Trump writes, thinking positively that he'll be an Olympic gold medal-winner overnight will not make it happen. The point is, force yourself to find things in your daily life, in the moment, that you can appreciate, and use it positively. There are several - just browse through this day and you'll find it. What I've also learnt is that every negative in life has a balancing positive. Trust me, if you see 10 negatives, there are also 10 positives to the same situation. And when life challenges you it is to make you grow, or learn from it. If we only think of the negative to each situation, we won't find the solution, and will never grow. If you are not open to being challenged on a daily basis, then you are not destined for success. Now, if you only do this one thing, go to a book store, and buy any book that you think will teach you something or inspire you. It's a good, positive, start. Do it now!
Have a blessed day! XX

Do I smell summer?

It is November and I am very happy to see the sun and smell the soft summer's breeze - almost time to hit the pool, or, even better, get to the coast and spend lazy days on the beach! Hope you have a smooth & awesome Friday & weekend! XX

Brothers in arms

There is a song by Dire Straits (written by lead singer Mark Knopfler), called "Brothers in arms," which made me think of the special bond that often exists between brothers. And I would like to take this opportunity and express my gratitude towards my brother. I am grateful to have a hard-working, ambitious, dedicated, grounded, trustworthy, strong, confident, and loving brother. I have utmost respect for him and what he's achieved thus far. And I know that he is destined for much more success in the future. Thank you boetie, you mean the world to me!
Pictured above, my brother and I with his first born son. May they be blessed.

Stranger in Moscow

I was wandering in the rain, Mask of life, feelin' insane.. Swift and sudden fall from grace. Sunny days seem far away. Kremlin's shadow belittlin' me. Stalin's tomb won't let me be. On and on and on it came. I wish the rain would just let me...

How does it feel... how does it feel? When you're alone, and you're cold inside?

Here abandoned in my fame Armageddon of the brain; KGB was doggin' me; Take my name and just let me be
Then a begger boy called my name; Happy days will drown the pain
On and on and on it came; And again, and again, and again...
Take my name and just let me be...

How does it feel; How does it feel? When you're alone, and you're cold inside?

Like stranger in Moscow; Lord have mercy
We're talkin' danger; We're talkin' danger, baby
Like stranger in Moscow; I'm livin' lonely
I'm livin' lonely, baby...

Koflex Sports Nutrition - trying out new samples!

I am currently awaiting samples from the American based company, Koflex Sports Nutrition, and I'm excited to see the results of these products. Will give feedback soonest. In the meanwhile our productions are in over-drive for pre-recording extra episodes for the December period. We are not on-air from 21 Dec - 8 Jan. Whoohooo!! I'm still deciding on where to spend my New Year's and kinda considering Cape Town, since I will be on the West coast with my family anyway - for Christmas. Hope you got your plans already in check! And, of course, your plans for 2010. Gotta have a plan, or 2!
Have a blessed day! I'm off to gym!

Good days go with bad days...

Being insecure and unsure of your own strengths can have a devastating effect on your emotions, your work, your creative output, and even your health. It is clearly a slow week for me at the gym - which is frustrating in itself. You get good days, and really bad days. So far I have been sluggish, feeling lethargic and not motivated at all. Is it the flu? Or perhaps my brain is just fried after a year of really hectic working hours! I have most certainly learnt a lot this year, and gained more experience in my field of TV production. Achievements come in slow when you are still trying to climb the ladder. One day, I know, I will get there too! When you reach November and the road seems a little deserted (as if the year went by without anything great that happened) it is not really the most welcoming feeling to greet December, and the Festive period. Is my blood sugar very low today? Dunno. Lol. I know one has to be inspired by the successes of other people, but when it just feels so damn hard to break out, geez, then it kills the spirit. For real. You start doubting yourself, your strengths, your path, your motivation. I read about problems being opportunities to grow; that we should see challenging times as a contest to win, and that each of us have so much potential, that we simply can't waste time to sit down and cry. The latter being inevitable. Boys also cry. So, I gotta face the day, stay focused on those goals written down on a scrappy piece of paper, dry my eyes and look ahead. It won't be easy. Success might not happen today. Perhaps for others close to you, but don't be discouraged. Find the strength inside your heart, it's there, and keep pushing the big block of concrete ahead. It will move. It has to.
